A Harrogate accountancy firm that specialises in playing an active role in its client’s businesses has set out some unique requirements as it seeks to recruit and expand.
Wild & Co Accountants, based in Windsor House, is on the hunt for an experienced qualified accountant to join its team but is specifying that the ideal candidate will be someone who prefers not to spend all their time behind a desk, number-crunching. The role will involve all aspects of tax and accounting including both corporate and personal tax.
Founder Liz Wild said: “It may seem a little odd for an accountancy role but our business is very much about having face to face contact with clients and spending time with them to help them understand their finances and make strategic decisions.
“One of the first things we do for the companies we work with is to automate as many of their routine tasks as possible, which frees up their time, as well as ours, to concentrate on the more exciting aspects of running a business.”
Wild & Co recruited Chartered Certified Accountant Carol Beeley a year ago, who joined from a senior finance role at North Yorkshire County Council. Continuing growth has created another opportunity for a qualified accountant to join the team.
The firm works with clients in Harrogate and throughout Yorkshire including Heal Medical and Wellness Spa, Little Breads, ASE Computer Services, Blue Pepper Catering, Fun Training for Results and Dream Doors.
Liz added: “Carol has been delighted that her role has involved so much time on client work and spent networking. Accountancy has the image of being very desk-bound and although we do spend part of our week in the office, we like to spend as much time as possible with our clients, helping them analyse their figures and make changes that will generate better cash flow and greater profitability.”
