When experienced internal communications strategist David Barber decided to launch his own consultancy business, he turned to Wild and Co Chartered Accountants for help to put everything in place.
David wanted to use his years of experience to help companies improve their internal communications strategy to drive positive change in their business and engage their employees.
Knowing that Wild & Co had helped many start-up businesses to put the foundations in place for strong and sustained growth, he sought their advice first before taking the plunge.
“Liz and Graham were very encouraging and knew exactly what steps I needed to take to get started, which was a huge load off my mind. Knowing that they would support me through incorporation, registering for VAT and setting up online accounting through Xero meant I could focus on developing my offering and marketing it to potential clients.”
Liz and Graham helped David with the practical side of setting up a business as well as making sure he had the right structure in place from the outset. They also worked with him to set up the processes he would need to make sure he was recording and monitoring the financial data that would help him with his decision making during growth.
David added: “It wasn’t just the practicalities that Wild & Co dealt with, they’ve acted as a sounding board throughout my first 18 months and have made valuable introductions to networking groups, banking and other useful contacts who have helped me enormously.”
Liz Wild said: “We could see immediately that David had a solid business idea and the level of internal communications expertise that would be highly sought after by organisations experiencing growth and change. He also had the passion to succeed.
“By putting all the systems in place and helping him with the technical side of starting a business, we were able to help him launch with a solid foundation for growth.
“It has been incredibly rewarding to see how quickly he has established Spark Consultants and we are looking forward to offering continued support as the business expands.”
