Success Story - HTF Legal
From start-up to growth: supporting HTF Legal every step of the way
When Helen Forster decided to establish her own specialist law firm, she knew her area of expertise inside out. What she needed was an accountant who could help her get the business foundations right from day one and continue to support her as the firm grew.
Wild & Co Chartered Accountants has worked with HTF Legal since its inception, initially helping Helen understand the different options available to her and the best way to structure and set up the new business.
The team made themselves available to talk through the options, answer questions and give her the information she needed to make fully informed decisions.
Once those decisions had been made, Wild & Co supported the practical process of getting everything in place, helping Helen move from the idea of establishing her own firm to having the business up and running within just a few days.
Support that has grown with the business
That initial start-up support has developed into a long-standing relationship.
HTF Legal has grown into an established specialist private client law firm in Wetherby, advising on Wills, Probate, Trusts, Tax, Court of Protection and disputes. The business has continued to expand its team and has recently moved to larger offices in Wetherby to support growth.
As the firm has evolved, so too has the support Helen needs from her accountants.
Wild & Co continues to keep in regular contact, taking an interest in where the business is heading and making sure Helen has someone to turn to whenever she needs to ask a question, discuss an idea or understand the financial implications of a decision.
What the customer says
Helen says:
“Wild & Co have been with me right from the beginning and as the business has grown, I’ve always felt that they have my interests and the interests of HTF Legal at the forefront. They keep in touch, they know what is happening in the business and, if I have a question or want to talk something through, I know I can pick up the phone.
“As a small business owner, there are a lot of decisions that ultimately sit with you but working with Wild & Co means I never feel as though I’m making them on my own.”
For Wild & Co, being part of HTF Legal’s journey has meant understanding both Helen’s ambitions for the business and the specialist nature of the firm she wanted to build. Her expertise extends beyond client work and includes delivering training and lectures to other professionals in the private client sector.
Tasha Jacques of Wild & Co says:
“Helen is a real expert in her field and had already built an incredibly strong reputation in private client law, particularly around Wills, Probate and Trusts. It has been a privilege to support her in taking that expertise and using it to establish a firm of her own.
“What has been particularly rewarding is seeing HTF Legal develop from the business we helped Helen set up at the very beginning into the growing specialist firm it is today.
“As Helen has built the team and expanded the business, our role has evolved too. We’re here not just to look after the accounts, but to give Helen someone she can talk to about the business, its growth and the decisions that come with that.
“That’s the relationship we want to have with our clients. We want to understand where they are going, be available when they need us and give them the financial clarity and support to make decisions with confidence.”
